Course Syllabus

Abstract

After completing the course, students will know the basics of working with data and apply them to solve various machine learning problems. In addition, popular machine learning algorithms will be considered, for example, the decision tree and its modification, the random forest, for problems that require a clear answer - yes or no - such models are often used in banks to answer the question of whether to give a loan to a person or not. Boosting and gradient boosting for classification and regression problems will be studied. We will also look at a loss function closely related to the last two algorithms that is used for more accurate learning.
