On February 1, the first research seminar titled «Magic, Astrology, and Science in Russian Modernism» took place.

The First Seminar of the Research Team Project

Varvara Kukushkina and Pavel Yushin presented a fragment of the collective research of the group members, making a report on scientific and literary sources of the «star horror» topos and analyzing the relationship between the two images: Edvard Munch’s «The Scream of Nature» (1893) and Mariia Iakunchikova’s «L’Effroi» (1893-1895).
