Symposium "Sustainable Tourism and Development"

Senior Bachelor and Master’s degree students in Tourism, Creative and Cultural Industries and Place Management are invited to take part in the Symposium "Sustainable Tourism and Development" within the framework of the II Annual International Student Research Conference.

Many factors including technology and communications, big data, and tourism analytics have reshaped the nature of tourism research including what are the research questions and how we ask them. Many different factors are causing us to re-think the future of tourism and place development, as well as the research strategies. As such, both conceptual and methodological papers are strongly encouraged where conference presentations focus on the future of tourism research and place development and its implications for tourism practitioners and academics. Contributions based on case studies, new methodologies, innovative solutions, new data will be considered favorably. Quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods and experimental submissions are equally encouraged.

Submissions and proposals are encouraged but not limited in following thematic areas (please indicate your thematic area in your proposal):

-    Advances in tourism policy-making

-    Tourism development and planning

-    Tourism education and its role in managing tourism development

-    Tourism research and methodology

-    Innovation in sources and methods

-    Alternative and special forms of tourism

-    Future of tourism

-    Tourism, culture and creative industries

-    Dimensions of sustainable tourism

-    Place management

-    The role of creative industries in place development
