This is a course for anyone, who wants to discover the world of printmaking, regardless of their background and prior training. The course will be held at HSE Desing studio and will contain daily workshops on various printing techniques.
Week 1 - learning printing techniques
Each day of the first week (Monday to Friday) is dedicated to one/ two of the following printing techniques:
1. Relief printing (linocut)
2. Relief printing (collage)
3. Flat printing (b|w monotype)
4. Flat printing (color monotype)
5. Intaglio printing (dry point)
6. Intaglio printing: an etching (an engraving on metal)
7. Intaglio printing: etching (aquatint)
After getting acquanted with the technique with the help of the master, course participants will create a series of of works, exploring opportunities of various ecquipment and expressing their own ideas.
Week 2 - creative project and final exhibition
During week two each participant will work on their own creative project, producing a series of printing works, united by a common message or idea. At the end of week 2 ech student will present their set of works at a course exhibition.
Daily workshops (Monday to Friday, 4-6 academic hours per day). Learning printing techniques and working with printing equipment.
