The Call for Abstructs for the International Conference of the Center for Youth Studies 2026 Is Open

The Centre for Youth Studies at HSE University – St Petersburg invites researchers, faculty members, graduate students, and practitioners working on youth issues to take part in the international scientific conference ‘Youth Lifeworlds: Identities. Pathways. Futures.’

The conference continues a series of scientific events held by the Centre for Youth Studies every two years since 2013 and is one of Russia's leading professional platforms for discussing youth studies agendas.

The 2026 conference focuses on youth lifeworlds — subjective meanings, values, references, biographical projects, and everyday agency. In the context of growing precarity and the transformation of institutional landscapes, the subjective perspective of young people and their own perception of their lives become decisive factors in making life decisions and choosing behavioural strategies. We propose to view everyday youth agency as a key resource that not only helps maintain personal resilience but also actively shapes one's own lifeworld, thereby transforming social structures.

Special attention will be given to comparative research and cross‑cultural perspectives.
