A laboratory leading fellow researcher presented a Satellite Laboratories Consortium model at the international conference in Kuala Lumpur

Olga Dymarskaya presented the Satellite Laboratories Consortium model as an example of a new approach to international university collaboration, combining research, educational initiatives, and practice-oriented solutions in the field of social entrepreneurship.

On 1–2 July 2026, the 4th International Conference on Action Research AHIBS (AHIBS-ACT 2026) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference was organized by the Azman Hashim International Business School (AHIBS) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and focused on the theme “Action-Centric Research for Digital and Sustainable Futures.”

On the first day of the conference, Olga Dymarskaya delivered a presentation titled “Action-Centric University Collaboration for Sustainable Futures.” In her presentation, she introduced the Satellite Laboratories Consortium model, which enables universities to build systematic cooperation between social entrepreneurship, research transfer, and social impact assessment through joint research, educational, and project-based activities.

“Modern universities should not only produce knowledge but also create measurable social, economic, and environmental value. This challenge is particularly relevant for rapidly developing economies, where inequality, institutional gaps, and environmental pressures require new approaches,” noted Olga Dymarskaya.

She identified social entrepreneurship as a strategic field for translating academic knowledge into practice, emphasizing that many existing initiatives remain fragmented and are not always integrated into long-term institutional strategies of universities. The key message of her presentation was that action-oriented university collaboration requires more than partnership agreements: it requires shared structures, common research agendas, educational initiatives, stakeholder engagement mechanisms, and impact assessment frameworks.

According to Olga Dymarskaya, the presented Consortium represents such a structure. Its value lies not only in the results already achieved but also in its potential to become a replicable model for universities seeking to combine academic activities with social responsibility and sustainable development.

The first day of the conference also featured discussions on current research in digital transformation, including fintech, blockchain, smart business, ESG, and responsible digital transformation. Special attention was given to the role of artificial intelligence as an important component of modern professional education and talent development.
