HSE University – St. Petersburg Expands Its Global Presence
HSE University has opened a representation office of the Satellite Laboratory on Social Entrepreneurship and the Social Mission of Universities at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Limeira, Brazil. The new platform will serve as a space for joint research and the development of practice-oriented solutions.
The initiative is aimed at advancing international academic cooperation and strengthening collaboration within the Satellite Lab Consortium, as well as promoting initiatives in the fields of social entrepreneurship and the social mission of universities.
As part of the opening, Magdalena Gaete, Head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education (RepLab) at HSE University – St. Petersburg and Scientific Director of the Satellite Lab Consortium, delivered a master session titled “University Living Labs.” In her presentation, she emphasized the role of universities as human-centered ecosystems that integrate education, research, innovation, and societal engagement to generate measurable social impact. She also presented the conceptual and practical foundations of the Living Lab model as a tool for implementing the social mission of universities through collaboration with external partners in real-world settings.
The opening was accompanied by the installation of an official plaque marking HSE University’s presence at UNICAMP and formalizing the establishment of the Satellite Laboratory representation office within the partner institution. This step reflects the strengthening of long-term cooperation and a shared agenda in the areas of social innovation and sustainable development.
The representation office will serve as a platform for joint research projects, collaboration between students and faculty, the development of social innovation initiatives, and comparative studies across different regional contexts.
