AHIBS Global Research Exchange (AGRE): First Webinar of 2026 on Social Entrepreneurship
Magdalena Gaete, Head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education at HSE St. Petersburg, participated in the first webinar of the new season of the AHIBS Global Research Exchange (AGRE) program on social entrepreneurship.

The Azman Hashim AHIBS Global Research Exchange (AGRE) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (AHIBS UTM) is a series of international webinars aimed at sharing research, showcasing expertise, and stimulating intellectual dialogue among scholars.
On January 27, members of the Satellite Labs Consortium from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and HSE St. Petersburg participated in the first webinar of 2026. The webinar, titled "Social Entrepreneurship: Global Perspectives, Local Action," was moderated by Haliyana Khalid (UTM University, Malaysia).
Webinar Speakers:
- Adriana Mohd Rizal (Malaysia) spoke about the social entrepreneurship system as a whole—resources, stakeholders, and support mechanisms.
- Leandro Pereira Morais (Brazil) presented the phenomenon of the solidarity economy and its manifestations in the Brazilian context.
- Berto Mulia Wibawa (Indonesia) explained why social entrepreneurs are useful partners for the state and cited the example of a local free meals program.
- Magdalena Gaete (Russia) provided a detailed overview of the development of social entrepreneurship in Russia. She analyzed four case studies: "Museum of Darkness" (inclusive tours to understand the lives of the visually impaired), "Mamahod" (community support for mothers with children), "Invataxi" (transportation for people with disabilities), and "Opeka" (social services for vulnerable groups), to share examples of Russian social entrepreneurship projects with her international colleagues. Magdalena Gaete highlighted the evolution of these projects, their scaling, and their role in shaping the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Russia.
The event contributed to strengthening international ties and knowledge exchange.
