Professor Wagner delivers a lecture at HSE Saint Petersburg on 'Progress: A Reconstruction'

On June 15 the new international laboratory, Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy, was opened at HSE in St. Petersburg. The head of the laboratory Christopher Gerry tells us about the laboratory, its plans and prospects.

In late June an official delegation from HSE St. Petersburg comprising Sergey Kadochnikov, Alexander Semyonov, Tatyana Alexeeva, Elena Rogova and Christopher Gerry visited Turin university, where they signed an agreement on cooperation.

Zelenogorsk hosted an international conference on the history of diverse societies, as well as on the history of nationalism. The conference, which was called ‘Ruptures and Continuities in Histories of Empire: Federalism, Regionalism, and Autonomies as Alternative Political Imaginaries of Post-Imperial Political Order’, was organized by the Department of History at HSE - St. Petersburg and drew leading experts in the field of ‘new imperial history’.

ECOSUD 2015, the 10^th International Conference on Ecosystems and Sustainable Development, has taken place in Valencia. HSE St Petersburg was represented by Tatyana Grishchenko, Assistant Professor at the St Petersburg School of Economics and Management and academic supervisor of its management programme.

The Centre for Youth Studies’ long-term and productive cooperation with the University of Glasgow and the Centre for East European and Russian Studies is still underway. At an annual research forum the university hosted in Glasgow, six researchers from HSE’s Centre for Youth Studies presented papers at a separate panel devoted exclusively to the Centre’s work.

Ronald Grigor Suny, Academic Director of international research project 'Comparative Historical Studies of Empire and Nationalism' spoke at 'Al Jazeera America' on the topic "Bringing awareness to the tragic Armenian genocide".

On February 11, Jeanne Kormina (professor of anthropology and religious studies, Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg) gave a lecture "The Political Imagination of Russian Orthodoxy: National Identity and Imperial Heritage" at University of Michigan.
