The school program was focused on the practical study of applied finance and was conducted entirely in English. The training modules covered key areas:
- financial analysis,
- corporate finance,
- international financial reporting standards (IFRS),
- business valuation,
- risk assessment,
- quantitative finance and Python for finance,
- business game.
Each training day combined theoretical knowledge and practical tasks on real data, which allowed the participants to master modern analysis tools and immediately apply them in applied problems.
One of the most intense training days was the "Accounting and Reporting" section within the "Sustainable Finance" track, which was conducted by Elena Vladimirovna Yaskevich, Senior Lecturer of the Finance Department:

The day of the summer school "Accounting and Reporting" within the "Sustainable Finance" program was intense, interesting and fast. A small international team of students went from the basic principle of double entry to compiling reports in the form of a balance sheet and an income and expense report. On hot summer days, we worked hard, and during the rest, we allocated time to master new useful financial knowledge. Understanding basic accounting and reporting is a good start for further study of finance, analysis of the financial condition of the company and development of your own business.

As always, I was happy to work at the summer school. It is nice to see that the number of students has increased this year. The geographic coverage has also increased.
We reviewed the theoretical foundations of portfolio theory, and in the practical part, using Python, we downloaded stock quotes and conducted a small analysis. This knowledge will be useful both for scientific activities at the university and for a future career in business.
The final part of the program was a team solution to an investment case based on real data, where the participants applied the acquired skills and analytical approaches. The diversity of academic and professional backgrounds allowed the teams to offer different solutions - from assessing the effectiveness of individual projects to strategic analysis of companies in an international context.
The summer school became a platform for international and interdisciplinary interaction, development of applied skills and acquaintance with the academic environment of the HSE - St. Petersburg. The organizers plan to continue this format in the future, expanding both the topic and international participation.
