Work In Progress Seminar Series

Anastasia Meylakhs will present the paper "Sexual partnerships of Russian drug users: reduction and increase in HIV-infection transmission risks within relationships' dynamics"
Seminar presentation will be based on a pilot study results of «Staying Safe in St. Petersburg: how long-term IDUs avoid HIV infection». We will describe how some aspects of being in a stable relationships may facilitate or block a viral transmission within a couple. Mainstream public health studies predominately show injecting drugs couples as a route of viruses transmission; contrary to that vision we recognise a protective effects of PWID couples as a factor for their health and well-being in the long run.

5-day summer school on Health Technology Assessment. July 18 – 22, 2016.

This 5-day summer school, the first of its kind in Russia, will address this vital topic, starting with 2 days devoted explicitly to the measurement of health benefits, before moving on to consider cost-benefit analysis, cost-utility and cost-effectiveness analysis and other increasingly common methods as well as the design of trial based studies and decision analytic models. The school will be delivered in English by some of the world’s leading experts in this field.

Vacancy: Qualitative Research Manager

CHEMP is currently recruiting for a Qualitative Research Manager to bring oversight and management to several strands of qualitative research emerging within the CHEMP themes. We currently have five priority research themes: (i) Health outcome measurement and valuation; (ii) Economics of Health Behaviours; (iii) cardiovascular disease; (iv) mental health and well-being; and (v) Economics of ageing. There are qualitative elements involved across these multidisciplinary themes.
