On September 23, in the Russian House in Jakarta, the delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by the director Anna Tyshetskaya introduced Indonesian school students and their parents to the educational programmes at the university and opportunities of studies in Russia.

Pretty soon, HSE University-St Petersburg will go on the second expedition to the Himalayas organised together with the University of Delhi. This time, researchers will visit the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh which is known for more severe weather conditions at this time of the year. Together with colleagues from the Indian university, they will continue to study how the local communities adapt to ecological and climatic changes, focusing on the sociological aspect of the research.

St Petersburg took the 73rd place in the rating of innovative attractiveness of world cities 'HSE Global Cities Innovation Index 2024' (HSE GCII 2024) prepared by the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge of HSE University. The city was ranked in the top 100 world cities in such directions as the city environment (43rd place), creative industries (92nd place) and technological development (97th place).

HSE University-St Petersburg will remember September 13 as the loudest and happiest day as this Friday, we had the most heartwarming autumn festival—HSE SPB Day. Lots of people know Alexander Sorokin as a Dean of the St Petersburg School of Social Sciences but earlier, he engaged in the history of science and studied the Tomsk physicists. At the moment, he is working at the junction of several areas—anthropology, research on science and technology and environmental history, helps our students to study the local communities in the Indian Himalayas. We discussed with the Candidate of Historical Sciences what it was like to work constantly at the junction of various spheres, go on expeditions and run three marathons in different locations across the globe.

Aleksandra Averyanova graduated from the Bachelor's programme 'International Business and Management' in 2024 but already now, she is working as a coordinator of internal training at the IT company 'ecom.tech'. The graduate started working on her career back at the university—when she joined the Career Centre and then was hired at 'Setters Education'. We talked to Aleksandra about her studies and career path in the sphere of online education.

The International Competition of Short Videos about Cities 'WOWMOSCOW' organised by the Moscow City Tourism Committee and HSE Art and Design School, announced the results. On August 24 in the framework of the festival and forum 'Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030', the small amphitheatre of the park 'Zaryadye'  featured the premiere of the film 'Soul of Moscow' by Takha Audyarahma from Indonesia. The idea of this film was named the best in the final of the competition.
