HSE — Saint Petersburg takes a leading position in quality of admissions
Higher School of Economic – Saint Petersburg took the 6th position in quality of budget-funded admission in the country in 2017 according to the data gathered in the 8th annual monitoring regarding quality students enrolled into Russian higher educational institutions based on the results of Unified State Exam (USE) and Olympiads in 2017 – informs International Information Agency ‘Rossiya Segodnya’.
The trend to improve quality of applicants has been traced for more than a year. There is a gain in one position if to compare with the 7th place held by HSE St Petersburg last year.

The list of the best universities with best fee-paying applicants, same as last year is identical to the list of universities with best non-fee-paying applicants. HSE has taken the 5th position in this ranking (78 points, 805 applicants).
Context
The study has been conducted since 2009 and includes more than 400 universities, accepting students based on based on comparable parameters (state exam and Olympiads). The study excludes creative universities and security forces educational institutions.
