Anna Tyshetskaya
Director of HSE University–St Petersburg
The Shanghai Dragons are the first sports club to partner with HSE University–St Petersburg. On one hand, it's surprising. On the other hand, today, development is based on unexpected collaborations that lead to new breakthrough projects. We are always open to new ideas and are ready to act not just as a university, but as a community and a business.
The agreement between HSE University–St Petersburg and the Shanghai Dragons provides for the development of more than just sports—students of the School of Art and Design will create merchandise and souvenirs for the team's fans for the next season.
HSE University–St Petersburg will serve as an expert platform for conducting sociological research into the target audience of the Shanghai Dragons. Students of the Department of Media will work on communications projects, while the School of Economics and Management will help to explore the mechanics of managing a sports brand. HSE students from various programmes will be able to undertake internships at the hockey club.
Sergey Belykh
Chief Executive Officer of the Shanghai Dragons
We have something to be proud of in the sphere of higher education. I am pleasantly surprised by HSE University–St Petersburg. It is a world-class university, and its students are talented and successful. The Shanghai Dragons are a young and ambitious club always looking for new talents that can contribute something new and modern to our work. I am sure that our partnership is highly valuable for students, researchers, and the sports and academic community of our country.
The parties are working on a plan to launch open courses in Russian language and culture for Chinese citizens at HSE University–St Petersburg. The new platform will unite fans of hockey and the Shanghai Dragons from China in St Petersburg and help them to adapt to life in the country.
