Quantitatively oriented track "Social Data Analysis" in English

At this track students will acquire professional competences in sociological theory, basic qualitative and quantitative methods at the first semester. Starting from the second semester on, people at “Social Data Analysis” track focus more on picking up a bunch of methods and techniques to collect, make sense of, and profoundly analyze social data. At this track, students learn social network analysis, advanced statistical methods, data visualization, Python, Machine Learning, agent-based modeling and social physics. All the courses are given from the scratch, we do not expect people to have any specific background, neither in sociology, nor in math. The only prerequisite is English, which is supposed to be at the relatively high level (at least, upper intermediate).
We pay a lot of attention to practice and real-life research projects which are led by internationally renowned scholars. Some students at our track are academically oriented, and they have fantastic opportunities to continue their studies at Ph.D. level. Others prefer business analytics, investigative journalism, social activism, or IT, and they are well prepared for those careers as well, as they receive a full package of skills that are among top demanded at the international labor market these days: data analytics, machine learning, fact-based storytelling, and digital sociology.
