Course Syllabus

Abstract

International Procurement Management is a practically oriented course that aims to provide students with clear understanding of various international procurement issues and teach them how to apply this knowledge to real life situations. The task of procurement is understood in the course as finding the right source of supply and buying or purchasing of goods or services. The course highlights this sphere from a different point of view, including development of procurement strategy, procurement planning, procurement automatization, managing procurement risks and etc. It also touches upon many related issues, such as process design, negotiations, project execution and teamwork, financial decisions and category management.

    Each student can earn 1 point, or 0.5 points, or 0 points for each round of questions. 0 points – the student refuses to answer the question, or the student does not reply to lecturer’s question, or the student has violated academic ethics; the student gives a completely wrong answer (incorrect calculation or interpretation). 0.5 points – the student gives a partially/partly correct answer: the calculation or interpretation has minor mistakes. 1 point – the student gives a correct answer and clearly explains the calculation and interpretation without mistakes.
