Double Degree track with ESSCA

About the Double Degree Track

The Double Degree Programme is organized according to the agreement between the HSE St. Petersburg and ESSCA (Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d'Angers). It implies that Master in Finance students have the opportunity to spend one year in Paris at the programme “Banking and Financial Engineering" or at Angers at the programme "Corporate Financial Management", while students from France are able to visit the HSE. The alumni of the Dual Program will get two diplomas at the end of the study – one from the HSE and the other one from ESSCA.
With 10 campuses in 4 countries, ESSCA is among 5% of "triple crowned" business schools (schools with three major international accreditations - AACSBEQUIS и AMBA.) It is recognised not only in France but worldwide. Founded in 1909 in Angers, France, ESSCA is a grande école specializing in business offering a wide portfolio of programmes and degrees. ESSCA entered the prestigious Financial Times Master in Management Ranking in 2015. 
The study plan of French programmes includes many case studies, teamwork and courses where business practitioners are involved. Students will have a chance to learn modern financial practices from European specialists. 
Also, students are encouraged to study the second foreign language. Besides French, ESSCA proposes courses of German or Spanish languages.

How to apply?

To be eligble for double-degree track students must apply during 4th year of their bachelor studies and afterwards enroll into Master in Finance Programme HSE St. Petersburg. Russian students will go to France in the spring semester of the 1st year and stay there till the end of the fall semester of the second year. Between the semesters, they can pass an internship in ESSCA partner companies. They also can go back home in summer and pass the internship later. French students will come to Russia during their second year, so French and Russian students will know each other. This makes the programme very distinctive on those which are commonly existing at the market. 

After coming bake to the host university, students will defend their theses under the double supervision of professors from partner universities. Professors from ESSCA will participate in oral defenses of Russian students. 

Deadline for application is May, 15 2019 for bachelor students who is going to enroll into Master in Finance Programme.

To apply for double-degree programme student should have: 
  1. Language Certificate (IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL IBT 80)
  2. GMAT test with grade 600 or higher
  3. Motivation letter
  4. Fill in  Application for DD and send it to mneklyudova@hse.ru 

Costs of the program:

The students pay tuition at HSE St.Petersburg if applicable.

The other costs associated with the program should be covered by the students:

  • international travel;
  • accommodation expenses,
  • mandatory health insurance for international students or equivalent private insurance,
  • textbooks and miscellaneous expenses.


The new Track is open to any candidate including international applicants.

The Double Degree Track is delivered in English in both universities; therefore, students planning to enroll in it should demonstrate high level of English language proficiency.  

The newly established Double Degree Track is a not just a great chance to obtain degrees of two eminent universities, but also to explore cultural environment and educational system of a different kind, develop professional network, and discover a foreign city.
