Turning times: Russia and Germany, 1980 – 2000”: a joint course organized by the Department of History and Humboldt University
In the first weeks of May and June the Department of History, Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg and Humboldt University in Berlin will organize a joint course “Turning times: Russia and Germany, 1980 – 2000” for students from both Universities.
On 14th of December, 2015, Raye Farr, documentary filmmaker, director of Steven Spielberg Film & Video Archive US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the former director of the permanent exhibition of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, USA, presented her report, which was called "Creating Public History for Millions: World War II and the Holocaust ". This seminar was organized by Department of History of HSE and US Consulate General.
Samrat Sil, a student from the Presidency University in Kolkata (India) told about his first month of studies on the Master’s programme in Applied and Interdisciplinary History and explained the reasons why he would recommend every history student to take the opportunity to head to HSE St. Petersburg.
Artyom Sedov, a student of HSE in St. Petersburg is currently pursuing his Master’s Programme in Marketing Technologies. Aside from studying, he is also participating in the volunteer programme called ”Student Buddies” — using his free time to help international students with everyday issues. Artyom gave an interview to the HSE news service about the buddy network.
The event for the new and old students as well as for the staff is held on 30 August, 3-8 pm on Sibur Arena (Football Alley 8, Krestovsky Island). The programme includes a welcome speech from the Rector, music, lotteries, quizzes and quests and much more. Come and celebrate the opening of the new academic year with us!
