Research Opportunities for the Students

Student Scientific Group of Historical Legal Studies

The group was established on the basis of a scientific center of the medieval and traditional law, respectively. The main areas of research are the study of European law from the Middle Ages and the traditional rights of the East, legal anthropology, comparative historical legal studies.

Particular attention is paid to non-legal aspects - historical records and chronicles, memoirs of contemporaries, and epic works of folklore, data archeology, numismatics, epigraphy, toreutics, ethnography - as sources of information about the law, compared these data with the data of official acts. Meetings are held at the Center at least once a month.
