Workshop "Material World and Representation of Progress in the late USSR: to the History of Soviet Things"

The workshop is supported by the Russian Science Foundation. 

The main objective of the project is to investigate the activities of scientists, designers and engineers who developed, produced and advertised consumer goods: from clothing to food.

Participants of the project consider the role of technological transfers in the development of Soviet industry; highlight the history of engineering developments and practices for the supply and consumption of products and goods. In addition, special attention is paid to the problem of the representation of Soviet goods in the domestic and international markets.
