Course Syllabus

Abstract

Students will look at the possibilities of theoretical understanding, basic theoretical and methodological approaches, their criticism, as well as the results of empirical studies in gender research. The course uses textual and visual sources. All lectures within the course are organized using visual presentations, which allows students to better structure and absorb the material. Working in teams (small groups) helps students master teamwork skills, get more empirical material, and triangulate the results. At the seminars, students are provided with space for discussions, including both individual participation and work in mini-groups. At the end of the course, students prepare presentations on the conducted research and present them as part of the final seminar lesson “student forum”, which allows not only to present the results, but also to receive criticism and questions from other students. The student forum also develops student presentation and discussion skills.
