Protsenko Anton

Student, 2nd year

"When I first time heard the motto of HSE – “Non Scholae, Sed Vitae Discimus” – I was pleasantly surprised, yet remained skeptical. However, I personally managed to ensure how this slogan is put into practice.

For the last three years, I am deeply interested in marketing. Last year I was happy to become a marketer in a language school “Viola” where I am involved in all advertising campaigns – from the creation of brand’s mascot to posting photos of kittens in social networks. I managed to make the channel of the school in Telegram messenger one of the most popular in its field. My progress in messenger allowed me to start a blog about promotion in Telegram that is now read by more than 4 thousand people. It’s also a source of earnings – I published ads of such brands as Megafon and Sony.

In HSE I met a lot of awesome people that share my interests. My fellow student and I decided to create a startup that is related to messengers – and now we are working on it as a part of HSE project activities under the guidance of Zazdravnykh E.A.

I am still not sure what profession I would choose after graduation, but I really appreciate the diversity of activities that I manage to experience in HSE thought the year and a half: from participating in The Vyshka as a journalist to coding landings for it, from taking part in teamwork and preparing presentations to being the teaching assistant in Theory of Argumentation".

Halipina Ekaterina

Student, 4th year

«I joined the HSE in 2013 and now I am the 4th year student. I tried to understand what I am interested in about a year. Then, I found out that there is a league of business cases. I decided to take a part in such competition. The hardest thing was the team foundation. My first team consisted of all my classmates for whom participation in the case competition seemed to be interesting. We worked hard and by the end of the first championship got a special nomination for the quality of the analysis.

In addition to participating in the championships at the end of 2nd year, I applied for the internship. Some people have a fear that the internships are not paid. That was normal for me, because I went there for the experience and useful contacts. I interned in various departments from HR to consulting. At the moment I help the Career Development Centre (HSE SPb). I design posters for the career fairs, help to recruit volunteers for events and etc.

For my development I came up with a private motto: «Do not think that you have achieved a great deal, because there is a person who has achieved more». That motivates me a lot. I wish the same for all students»!
