Student travel ticket (a contactless electronic plastic card)

A contactless electronic plastic card is a discounted travel ticket for students that is valid on the metro and on land transport.

To apply for a contactless electronic plastic card you need to provide the Acadimic Office of your educational program with up-to-date passport data and Personal insurance account number (if available).

After providing the data to the St. Petersburg Metro by the employees of the Centre for Social and Scholarship Support the student can order the production of a contactless electronic plastic card in the following ways:

1) Students can apply for a card at the ticket offices of metro stations,

The production time is 20 days. You need to present a passport, a document confirming your eligibility for a discount (student ID) and a photo 3x4 centimeters to make an order.

2) At the «Centre for the production of concessional contactless smart cards»

The card can be issued on the same day of application (you will need to present your passport and student ID; a photo is not necessary).

You can apply for a card only after your data has been uploaded to the database provided to the metro by educational organizations in St. Petersburg.

The cost of production a contactless electronic plastic card is 250 rubles.

Attention! If international students have more than seven digits in their passport number, they need to enter seven digits from the end in the "number" column.

During the production period of the contactless electronic plastic card you can purchase a temporary contactless smart card «Kurs» at any metro station ticket office for 80 rubles. The balance of the paid travel ticket from the temporary contactless smart card «Kurs» will be transferred to the issued the contactless electronic plastic card. The temporary contactless smart card «Kurs» (if undamaged) can be returned to the metro station ticket office within 45 days from the date of purchase.
