A famous monument of constructivism—the Rope Shop of the Red Nailer factory—became a new educational building of HSE University-St Petersburg. Approximately four thousand students will study in the building at 25 Liniya Street on Vasilyevsky Island.

Maksim Babikov graduated from the programme 'International Business and Management' in 2024. When he was a student, Maksim started actively building his career: he undertook internships in product management and HR spheres and then took an interest in analytics. For a year, the graduate has been working as a risk analyst at 'Alfa-Bank' and continued his education in the Master's programme 'Data Analytics for Business and Economics'. On June 30, HSE University-St Petersburg gathered almost 5000 guests at KSK 'Arena' for the main event of this summer—graduation 2024. Bachelor's and master's students were congratulated by their friends and family, professors and faculty deans as well as HSE University-St Petersburg trustees. The diplomas of HSE University-St Petersburg were awarded to more than 1400 people, and 280 of them received the diplomas with honours. Daniil Kornev is a 2022 graduate of the Bachelor’s programme 'Political Science and World Politics'. Now, he is studying in the campus master's programme in UX-analytics and working at a gamedev company as a head of data analysis direction. HSE SPB Day has been held at Sevkabel Port in the open air. HSE students were congratulated on the beginning of the academic year by the trustees, faculty deans, and the rousing HSE Dance Club. The first-years had an initiation ceremony, participated in activities from student clubs, and danced to popular songs on the Gulf of Finland. They received well wishes from the professors, representatives of large companies and, of course, student organisations. Classes at the Hermitage, internships at the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, cooperation with Sevkabel Port—all these things are part of student life on the Master's programme 'Arts and Culture Management'. Over the last year, Alisa Chernova, second-year student of the programme, has managed to study Dutch art in St Petersburg's main museum, attend the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, and help organise the CIBA-2023 cultural event. HSE Orientation Week came to an end. It was organised by the Career Centre and the Alumni Community. Within a week, there were 12 meetings at HSE University-St Petersburg in which 40 alumni of the campus and 350 first-years took part. This year, for the first time in its history, one of HSE’s biggest events will be held online. Expertise and a casual atmosphere, science and games, music and sports – everything we love about it will remain, but thanks to the endless possibilities of the virtual reality, anyone from any part of the world can join the festivities of the Brand New HSE Day.

By the end of 2020, HSE scientists will launch their own satellite into low Earth orbit, which will allow them to observe the Earth via the satellite’s remote sensors. To design and create the satellite, specialists and students of MIEM HSE and the HSE Lyceum worked closely with the Sputniks company, the Sirius Education Centre, and Scanex.
