Students Can Now Visit Project Office of Saint Petersburg TechnoPark

In July 2016 our university created a Specialized department (project office) JSC “Saint-Petersburg Techno Park”, and one of its units in the business incubator “Ingria”. Now the specialized department is a part of HSE - Saint Petersburg School of Economics and Management and its aim is to develop theoretic and practical knowledge and applied competences of bachelor, specialist and master students in the sphere of project work, as well as to help students and alumni find their place on the labor market and increase their competitive advantages.

On the 28^th September staff members of the Specialized department and the Department of Management conducted lessons for the 3^rd year bachelors in the framework of the “Project seminar” in JSC “Techno Park”. Students spent 8 hours in the company. Lessons included a lecture on modern innovation landscaping, and leading staff members of “Ingria” and the director of the Prototype center Sergey Varlamov.

Then students got acquainted with six residents of the business incubator and visited their labs. During informal communication with the innovators students learnt how to organize their own innovative project that can later be turned into a start-up.

In the Prototype center students saw all the steps of creation of innovative products: from the development of 3D-model on the computer to the printing on 3D-printers. The lessons ended at the room of the added reality which is still unfinished. The director kindly invited the students to its opening in a month.

The next planned event in the framework of the partnership of department of management and specialized department is the project seminar on the topic of “Financial infrastructure of the innovational landscaping in SPb”. During this occasion students will get answers to their questions, listen to speakers, and, if necessary, get practical recommendations from the representatives of business angels and venture investors, collaborating with the JSC “Techno Park”.

"During “Project Seminar” we, students of the group 144, had an opportunity to visit JSC “Techno Park of SPB”. In the beginning of the seminar there was a lecture on structure and occupation of the company, and then we walked around the auditoriums and labs of the business incubator “Ingria”, Prototype center, Cluster Development center and Engineering center.

We were especially interested in the business incubator where more than 15 project groups are engaged in developing and promoting their ideas with the help of the Engineering center. Communicating with real project groups which are working on huge and high-demand projects supported the words of one startuper, Strogov V.O. that Ingria has everything one needs to do business. Everything is at hand: room for team work, co-working space (open 24/7), special equipment and even Prototype center.

We were even as lucky as to speak to the manager of the project on creation of mobile apps for banks. We found out it was this company that developed the concept of mobile app for bank services in Russian Federation.

The thing that gladdened us the most is the opportunity to write our course work based on the research conducted in the incubator. It’s highly possible that after acquiring practical skills while working with innovators someone may even come to “Ingria” with their own innovative project.
